is a place of peace, quiet, and great natural beauty.
The
name "Cobscook" comes from the Indian word meaning
"boiling tides." Cobscook Bay is part of the
Bay of Fundy, well known for its extreme tides.
Come see our lighthouses
and enjoy a lobsters dinner and a whole lot more!
Wayne
Curtis wrote about the area in "A

our natural environment. The Chamber belongs to the Maine

The
Cobscook Bay Area is known in the birding community as an
excellent bird watching location. In recognition,
this Chamber and other organizations sponsor the Down

Day Weekend. The first annual festival took place
in 2004. In 2012, The Downeast Birding Festival
celebrates its 9th successful season. Come join in on the
best birding in Maine.
